In this relaxing 2.5-hour afternoon workshop, together with others, you will learn the fundamentals of weaving on a lap loom. You'll explore the different textures and weaves you can work with to create a beautiful and truly unique wall hanging for your home.

Weaving is a naturally absorbing and conscious craft which allows you to reconnect with yourself. The process is repetitive, tactile and beautifully grounding. The class is taught by Amanda, founder of Head & Hands. She set up Head & Hands as a curator of handmade products and experiences all focused on self-care. Amanda has long been fascinated by the healing remedy of crafting something beautiful and watching it unfold. She recently started #SlowDownClub a hashtag promoting mindfulness and the radical act of slowing down, taking the time to look after yourself.

In this course spread over two Tuesday evenings, you will carefully craft your own timeless and stylish stoneware ceramic fruit bowl. Led by local ceramicist Yani Syla Delgado, in the first class you will explore working with clay, using a mould to shape your bowl, hand building it delicately. Yani will take each piece to have its first biscuit firing in her studio and returned for glazing and decorate in the second week.

In this class you will learn to craft an Ojo De Dios (eye of God), woven with yarn between wooden sticks in several colors. The weaving of an Ojo de Dios is an ancient contemplative and spiritual practice for many indigenous peoples in the Americas. 

The practice of making an Ojo, is repetitive, grounding and medititve. Crafting one is an excellent tool to quiet your mind and re-connect with your inner self.

The Tarot Learning Circle is a space for people interested in the tarot to meet and discuss the cards. Aimed at beginners or those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the deck, we will meet every Tuesday evening for six weeks to talk about the meanings of the ancient cards and how they might be interpreted to fit within our contemporary lives.

Using simple, memorable techniques, we will cover all 78 cards of the Major and Minor Arcana. The emphasis will be on deepening your understanding - focusing on symbols, numerology and pictorial metaphors within each card - rather than attempting to learn meanings by rote.
