Mindful Mandalas

During the summer months Obby is taking up residency in a gorgeous Pop Up venue in East Village. In partnership with Get Living London, they'll be hosting a summer series of specially curated creative workshops throughout the summer and launching on the 23rd with a Wellness theme. During the day there'll be several events happening, including yoga, meditation and a few market stalls to browse.

The first of our Obby Summer Series is going to be with Amanda, from head & hands

Mindful Mandalas with Obby

Learn to craft an Ojo de Dios, woven with yarn between wooden sticks in several colours - an ancient contemplative and spiritual practice for many indigenous peoples in the Americas.

The practice of making an Ojo, is repetitive, grounding and meditative. Crafting one is an excellent tool to quiet your mind and re-connect with yourself.

Head & Hands' founder Amanda, will guide you through a gentle meditation whilst you are creating. This is a great connection between making and meditation, two core part of the latest slow-living movement that is sweeping the nation, and a key part of the wellness day taking place in East Village on the day of the workshop. By the end of the class you'll not only feel relaxed and chilled out but you will have created your woven mandala which you can then take home and display as your own token of taking part in the slow-living movement. You'll also be able to repeat this process, so you can make them for friends, family or colleagues as a little symbol of friendship or love!
